The most common question I am asked is-
How do I know if it is time to buy?
Do you plan to live in this home for 3-5 years? Or longer?
Can you afford to spend 30% of your gross monthly income on a home?
Do you have anywhere from 3-20% saved for a down payment? (There are plenty of mortgage options for first time home buyers. 20% down is not required in all home purchases. There are hundreds of down payment assist programs that you may qualify for. Don’t let this scare you away from buying.)
Do you know how much house you can afford? (Reach out! Believe it or not, this is the first step to finding a home. Realtors work with qualified lenders every day. We can assist you in this beginning step to see if you qualify for a loan that will cover a home in the area/price range you desire.)
Don’t be afraid of your credit score! Many lenders can also help you get a higher score (and/or help you clean up your credit report).
If you have answered yes to these questions and aren’t sure what the next step is, reach out! I am here to help you figure out where to go from here and if home buying is in your near future.
